Since 1981 we’ve designed and built a lot of bikes, pedaled countless miles and welcomed many into the Moots family. Here’s a few milestones we’re proud of:
The first Moots, a custom steel road frame, rolls out the front door in Steamboat Springs, CO.
Launch of the groundbreaking YBB soft-tail suspension technology.
Moots begins working with titanium, setting a new standard in frame building.
The first titanium Moots is displayed at Interbike and the magical material quickly becomes our material of choice. We expand the factory.
Introduction of the Psyclo X, Moots’ first dedicated cyclocross bike.
Ruthie Matthes wins the Cross Country National Championship riding her Moots YBB.
The Moots X YBB suspension mountain bike joins the lineup.
We move into our current, state-of-the-art factory. Super Light (SL) Road and MTB models introduced.
Launch of the SL Road bikes, built from butted 6/4 titanium.
Moots celebrates its 25th anniversary of precision, craftsmanship, and innovation.
The Zirkel full suspension mountain bikes with 26” wheels debut.
The MXZ full suspension mountain bike launches.
The Moots road Line is completely revamped with the unveiling of the new Vamoots RSL. Keeping things light and stiff, the RSL stem comes to market.
Moots introduces the ROUTT and ROUTT 45, answering the growing demand for gravel-specific bikes.
Moots is one of the first frame builders to integrate 3D technology into a flat mount brake mount.
The legendary YBB softail joins the gravel category. The Womble, a modern hardtail, expands the mountain bike line.
The Vamoots RCS redefines endurance road geometry with bigger tire clearance.
Launch of the Vamoots CRD, Moots’ first fully integrated road bike.
The MXC, a progressive hardtail, joins the mountain bike lineup.
