One of One: The Vamoots CRD × Mavic x Campagnolo

Every so often a build comes along that only happens once. This is one of those.

When we were deciding what special project to bring to MADE 2026 in Portland, we kept landing on the same answer. Road. So that is what we built: a one-of-one Vamoots CRD, painted for this collaboration, built with Mavic and Campagnolo. It debuted at the show, and it is the only one we will make.

Handcrafted in Steamboat Springs, the way we have always done it since 1981.

The story

We have been welding titanium by hand in Steamboat for decades. Mavic has been building wheels for over a century. Campagnolo has been shaping road groupsets in Italy for generations. This bike puts all three on one frame, shaping the purest expression of the craft. Road.

The finish is where this one lives. A soft sea-foam green over the front triangle fades to white, with pinstripe detailing running through it. Get the light on it right and the paint stops behaving like paint. Fine flake sits suspended in the clear coat, and for a second, the right light catches it like the surface is still wet. The matching Moots seat post leaves a band of raw titanium exposed, and the Enve one-piece cockpit and fork are painted to match. Chris King's Jade finish on the headset, hubs, and lockrings ties it all together. The Jade Chris King surface is matte, but the color isn't flat, it shifts slightly depending on the light and the angle you're looking from. No two glances land the same. We designed the finish in-house for this frame, one of one.

The build

The Vamoots CRD sits at the top of our road line. It starts with our double-butted RSL titanium tubeset and runs a fully integrated cockpit, so the lines stay clean and the cables stay out of sight.

The only one

Give us a blank canvas and one bike to make, and this is the result. Our best road platform, the best parts our partners build, and a finish that exists exactly once. An ode to the road, from a shop that has always loved it. Made to last.

More from MADE 2026

The Vamoots CRD wasn't the only thing we brought to Portland. If you missed the show, here's the rest of what was on the floor:

  • The limited-edition "Phase" finish on the new Womble — the etched-and-anodized fade that ended up stealing the show. The Radavist has the finish story and a full gallery.
  • The new Routt — our reworked gravel platform, built around bigger rubber and a 3D-printed yoke, shown as a prototype. More to come soon. BIKEPACKING walked through it.
  • The new all road - one bike for smooth road, broken pavement, and the gravel shortcut, with clearance up to 42c. Shown a a prototype, more to come.
  • The 32" prototypes — two big-wheel hardtails we're still testing, including the Scrambler 32. Also in BIKEPACKING's builder rundown.

The conversations, the rides, the stoke, that's why we do this. Events like MADE are never just about the bikes, they're about the people who show up for them. Thank you for being a part of it.

We'll be back on the road later this year. Find us at Bespoked Japan in Osaka, October 23 to 25, and Rouleur Live in London this November.

Until next time.
