MITER SHOP EMPLOYEE
Job Profile
The miter shop employee is in charge of the frame building process, which involves fixture setup, mitering, bending, tube shaping, and other tasks to create complete frames and components ready for welding. This role requires the ability to operate several different machines and maintain a high level of attention to detail. The Miter shop is the driver of the production flow, working efficiently as possible is a must.
Preferred Requirements
- Experience in operating industrial machines such as vertical and horizontal mills, lathes, saws, and presses.
- Proficient in using calipers, tape measures, protractors, and other measuring devices for quality control and setup.
- The ability to repeat a process in an efficient and precise manner.
- Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings and apply shop math to set up and layout tooling for required tasks.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform manual machining operations on vertical and horizontal mills.
- Operate machines and be able to repeat multiple cuts routinely.
- Setup fixtures and tooling for different parts of the frame building process.
- Handle material: check in new material, carry material up and down a ladder, ability to lift 100lbs, maintain inventory, and treat the material as a finished product.
- Physical ability to be able to bend and squish tubing manually.
- Assist other departments as needed.
Other
- Being able to solve problems and think quickly on your feet.
- Having an eye for detail and ensuring that Moots’ quality and standards are met.
- A self-starter who can plan and schedule their day to be as efficient as possible.
- Ideally, some experience with the manufacturing process of bicycle frames or other similar items
- This is a production-style job that will require doing the same task numerous times while maintaining Moots’ level of quality.

We are seeking a full-time employee willing to work forty hours a week, Monday to Friday. Preferred experience in the bicycle field, although not required. We are willing to train the right candidate. Health, dental, vision, and vacation benefits available. Starting pay $24/HR and up depending on experience.

POST-WELD FRAME FINISHER
Job Profile
The post weld frame finisher is the last step of production before the frame ends with its final customer. The Finish department is responsible for all operations that takes place on the frame after welding. This includes post weld machining, frame alignment, hand work, bead blasting, graphics, and final assembly of the frames. The Finish employees are an integral part of our final QC inspection and hold our products to a high standard.
Job Responsibilities
- Bead blasting.
- Minor handwork of frames.
- Application of various finishes and masking.
- Titanium anodizing.
- Final assembly of frames.
- Basic machine and finish work of Ti components.
- Inspection and quality control at every step.
- General shop tasks of cleaning and inventory control.
Key Requirements
- Attention to detail and dedication to quality.
- Comfort with hand tools and machines, and the ability to use them safely.
- Reliable.
- Bike industry experience is useful but not required.
- Historical knowledge of bicycle design useful but not required.
- Good listener and invested trainee.
- Graphic design experience is also appreciated but not required.
- Ability to follow written instruction and procedures.
- Duties may expand as you develop comfort with our team and proficiency in your work.

TITANIUM BICYCLE WELDER
Job Profile
Moots Cycles is renowned worldwide for having the best titanium TIG welders in the bicycle industry. Each welder at Moots contributes to the process of producing our frames, components, and sub-assemblies. Your daily responsibilities will include light manual machine tasks, material preparation, jigging, and welding. Most welding is done from a bench and requires hand and arm positions where there is no support. Moots is a tight-knit team, there will be times when you will assist other departments to achieve their weekly and monthly goals. While Moots will provide on-the-job training to meet our standards, job candidates should have experience in pulsed TIG welding thin-walled titanium or stainless and be prepared to present examples of their work.
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare and clean raw materials before welding.
- Inspect all parts for defects or flaws before welding.
- Properly set up fixtures and jigs.
- Tack subassemblies, components, and frames following established Moots procedures to maintain strength and alignment.
- TIG weld subassemblies, components, and frames following Moots procedures.
- Ensure quality control standards are met throughout the welding process.
- Assist other welders in daily operations.
- Perform manual machine operations on small parts for the next phase of production.
- Handwork machined parts by sanding, deburring, slotting, mitering, etc.
- Work with other departments to achieve weekly and monthly goals
- Bench welding setting using many hand and arm positions with minimal suport

Required Experience
- Pulse Tig welding thin wall titanium tubing and be ready to present examples of your work.
- Understanding how to use precision measuring devices such as calipers and tape measures.
- Extreme attention to detail.
- Ability to follow written instructions and procedures.
- Bicycle industry experience useful but not required.
