—MOOTS 2016 YEAR IN REVIEW—

Where did 2016 go? What did we do? We have assembled a couple of photos from each month of this passing year to see just what we did……we hope you enjoy.  Here’s to the past memories, let’s make some new ones in 2017.

JANUARY

Steamboat on average gets about 350 inches of snow annually.  The original Moots/Sore Saddle (now ORANGE PEEL BICYCLE SERVICE) building holds the snow on its textured surface…..let’s just say it was a snowy month.

FEBRUARY

We kicked off our 35th year of hand building bicycle frames with the introduction of the 35th Anniversary Limited Edition Vamoots RSL…..Colorado theme paint, custom Enve wheel set, polished Chris King head set & hubs, custom leather saddle wrap + bar tape.  Only 50 made world wide.

MARCH

A busy time for NAHBS where we introduced our Vamoots Disc RSL model complete with 3D printed drop out that incorporates flat mount and 142 x 12 thru-axle as well at the Mountaineer Ybb, and a new road disc fork with thru-axle.

APRIL

The Vamoots RSL was named 2016 Editors Choice by BICYCLING MAGAZINE during Sea Otter.

MAY

The month of May brought us full mud season and tall walls of snow.

JUNE

Photo shoots are fun! Right? Most of the crew made the photo, some are confused by what to do. This amazing group of people gets it done everyday of the year.

June was a busy month for us as we hosted the Rapha Prestige Colorado event from Moots and then just two weeks later our 3rd Moots-Colorado Ranch Rally gravel event.

JUNE

The FARWELL joins our mountain bike line up of 27.5 plus sized rigs.

Rapha Prestige—Everything in sepia tone…..a massive day of 130 miles, which about 100 was dirt road.

Tuckered out……130 miles will do that to a person.

Ranch Rally could have not been a better day all the way around.

During the month of June we saw the Tour Divide racers ride right past our doors.  Bobby from District Bicycles is a huge Moots Dealer and was smilling even more than normal.

JULY

The long warm days of July are magical in the mountains.  This year we spent 4 of those July days riding with an amazing group of riders for all walks of life during the Steamboat Ralleye.  Fort Collins to Steamboat bikepacking style.

AUGUST

Moots goes to Eurobike.  Germany greeted us with warm days and hot times at the show. This was our 5th or 6th Eurobike trip, first time displaying on our own.

SEPTEMBER

The day after Eurobike and we found ourselves photo shooting in the Swiss Alps. Loads of work, with some “playing”.

The ROUTT RSL was introduced in late September during Interbike. 3D printed drop out with flat mount and thru-axle, butted tube set and more aggressive position makes this a gravel conosur’s dream. It joins our Routt family that is now 3 models strong.

The BAXTER was introduced technically in late August during Eurobike and by the time we got to Interbike weeks later it had caught fire.  We’ll put this in September.

September photo shooting saw some radness in the woods.

OCTOBER

Falling leaves and temps didn’t keep our top dealer (Studio Velo) from bringing customers to Steamboat for a full week of gravel camp.  We covered almost 300 miles in 4 days and made friends for life.

NOVEMBER

We presented our Chris King 40th Anniversary build during King’s open house in early November. Baxter dressed to kill.

DECEMBER

December brought us the real start of our winter with snow packed bike paths to ride and low angle sunsets.

We are looking foward to 2017 and seeing you out on the bike!
