The 2017 Jensie Gran Fondo of Marin has come and gone, but by no means has it been forgotten. Moots signed on to be the official bike sponsor of the event via our outstanding dealer/partner STUDIO VELO, based in Mill Valley, CA. The shop serves as home base for the operations of the event which saw 1500 riders tackle 3 distances on the world class roads of Marin County. Of course, Jens Voigt is the keynote rider for the Fondo that bears his name. His draw beyond his past pro carrier is big. He’s personable, original and happy to share more than just quirky sound bites as he rides among the groups of riders on the road.
We sent an all-star cast to work the event and of course got out and rode with all the great folks that support this event. Studio Velo knows how to give back to the community that supports their shop. During the Jensie there was a Strava segment that Jens had ridden before with about 40 pounds of gear on his back, including a Moots frame. He set the time and whoever recorded the closest to it during the Fondo won a Moots frame! How’s that for doing something special? The event proceeds benefit the Marin County Bicycle Coalition which pushes to have safe roads and routes for bicycle use.
We are proud to have been a partner in this event and support Studio Velo, one of our top Dealers in the U.S., and safe cycling with MCBC. We all had a blast riding those beautiful roads and showing off our bikes, and hope to be back next year.
