This July, I took an 8-day trip from my home near Seattle. I rode down to Portland with the Seattle-to-Portland ride. Then I rode over to the coast at Astoria, OR. From there I followed the Washington coast along the Pacific Ocean and various large bays to the Olympic Peninsula. Much if the ocean route is known as the “Hidden Coast”. My route took me along the Strait of Juan de Fuca. I took a side trip up to Hurricane Ridge in the Olympic Mountain Range. I stayed in motels along the way and carried a few clothes and some food in panniers. The total trip was about 875 miles. Weather ranged from cool and cloudy, to dumping rain, to gloriously sunny. I’ve had my Routt 45 for several years and use it mainly for winter commuting and adventuring.
