I have wanted a Moots for so many years now. Learning about them and the prestige they carry. While living in eastern Iowa I got into the crit racing scene, therefore I went with a Specialized Tarmac SL6 with 60mm carbon Roval wheels. It was a real crit racing machine. Like an Italian sports car. Then I got into gravel racing while in Iowa and traveled all around the Midwest for both gravel and crit racing. Then I moved to Oak Creek, CO (just south of Steamboat) and I saw Moots bikes on the road all the time. With most crit races being canceled in 2020 due to COVID, and the fact I turned 40 this year, I found myself wanting less of the adrenaline rush of a crit race but more adventure. So I sold four bikes to buy just the frameset and built the bike up from the frameset with all my dream parts, creating my dream bike. I call it My Recovery for many reasons, but most of all due to the fact I owe the life I have and being able to get a dream bike to being sober for over three years. If I didn’t have my sobriety I wouldn’t have anything; and for that I am grateful. Happy riding all and I love seeing all those Moots out there in the stories and on Instagram.
