2014 was a good year for me. I had ridden over 2000 miles for the first time since 2007, and most of the miles were off road fat biking miles.
However, my degenerative muscle disease was taking its toll on my weakening body, making any type of riding involving hills difficult and frustratingly slow. I had decided that my bike riding days may be numbered, and the only way I’ll be able to ride with my friends again was to get an e-bike, so the week before Christmas I did, a Felt Lebowske.
Little did I know, my parents had gone to my favorite bike shop to buy me some 45NRTH Cobrafist pogies. And little did they know, they would also come home with a Moots FrosT fat bike. My mom happened to see the bike hanging on the wall, and thought it was pretty, so she asked the shop owner if he thought I would like it. The stunned owner, who had seen me drooling over the bike every time I went to the shop, was pretty sure I’d love it. So they bought it.
Christmas evening was winding down when my parents brought out the Moots. I was so shocked I just broke down in tears. They said they were proud of ability to ride over two thousand miles, and I think they wanted my last years of riding to be done in style, on a Moots.
Man do I love the bike. I ride it as much as I can. The supreme handling and light weight make it so much easier and even more fun to ride than my other fat bikes. My girlfriend loves it too, since she gets to ride it when we ride places with hills that are too tough for me and I have to ride the Lebowske.
I am very lucky to have the best parents in the world.
