Jared moved to Steamboat to try a new adventure for a ski season and, like so many others, he couldn’t give up the Steamboat dream and decided to stay.

In his summer break between sixth and seventh grade, Jared realized he was big enough to ride his dad’s old Huffy road bike. He took it out of the garage and his dad helped him put new tires on it. After cleaning up the bike he collected his quarters and rode down to the dollar theater in his home town of Council Bluffs, Iowa. He was all by himself, and only about a half mile from home, but he may as well have been in his own world. From then on he understood the amazing perspective and freedom bicycles offer.

Variety is everything to Jared, and when he is not riding a bicycle he can be found dirt biking, hiking, van camping, or a myriad of other things.
