MOOTS Finish Position–Post Machine- Job description and expectations: This person will join our existing team in the spring of 2020. The position we are hiring for will be responsible for: Bead-blasting Minor handwork of frames Application of various finishes and masking (decals, etching, polishing, and anodizing) Final assembly of frames Basic machine and finish work of components such as stems and seat-posts Final assembly of said components Inspection and quality control at every step General shop tasks of cleaning and inventory control Duties may expand as you develop comfort with our team and proficiency in your work. Attention to detail and dedication to quality are a must.  Comfort with hand tools and machines, and the ability to use them safely is a must.  Reliability is a must. We train our new hires. We don’t expect an expert on day one, we expect a good listener and invested trainee. Bike industry experience, some historical knowledge of bicycle design, and an enthusiasm for cycling in any form are favored. Some graphic design experience is also appreciated but not required. You would be working directly with four others in finish and a tight production team of 12-14.  In total there are 22-24 people working here.  We spend a lot of time together in our little factory, so being a team player with a positive attitude is essential. Historically, our finish department has been viewed as an entry level job at Moots and new hires often have their eyes on working in other areas of the factory.  This is no longer our approach.  With the introduction of our premium finishes – etched, polished, and anodized – the level of workmanship required has raised the bar in all ways for our team in finish.  Thus, we are seeking individuals specifically interested in maintaining and developing our bikes’ looks.  This doesn’t mean there are no opportunities for growth, this means finish is our priority and it should be yours as well. If this interests you, we’d love to talk more and get a better feel for how we may be able to work together. Please send your resume and cover letter to: nateb@moots.com
