Wow. Was that a weekend or what? Not sure about you, but to say it was great would be an understatement. Summertime in full swing, events left and right, an awesome crew here at Moots pulling through and making fun things happen.
THE STINGER–COREY PISCOPO N.A. SALES MANAGER
Our good friends at Honey Stinger put on one heck of a mountain bike race, followed by a trail run marathon the next day. To compete in the solo mountain bike race of 52 miles is a feat in itself, add on running the same course the day after for the trail marathon and you’ve got a prescription for pain. The course is 98% single track and climbs 3500 feet per lap. Corey Piscopo who runs our North American Sales crew took on what is known as the “KING BEE” category. He crushed two laps on his MX RSL on Saturday with a 2:08 lap and then a 2:15 lap. Those are extremely fast laps for someone that had a marathon to do the next day. Corey came back the next day and put down a 26.2 mile run fast enough to earn him 3rd overall in the KING BEE competition.
Nice work Corey!
Corey’s MX RSL all ready to rip.
Corey on foot……A sight we don’t see often…when he does run, he runs fast.
Take that legs! Corey giving his legs a rest.
RAPHA AND MOOTS DO THE COLORADO CLASSIC–JEREMIAH GANTZER, ROCKY MOUNTAIN-MIDWEST SALES
Our “A” van headed off early Friday morning for a redevue with the good folks from RAPHA BOULDER in Breckenridge. The COLORADO CLASSIC bike race was happening and we teamed up with the fine folks from RAPHA to host mixed terrain rides each day before the pro racing started in the afternoon.
Moots was on hand to provide demos, drinks and “atmosphere”. The first day the group rode out of Breck, up and over Hoosier Pass, through Como and then up and over Boreas Pass on dirt/gravel back into town. Stunning day, followed by fun viewing of an exciting race.
The following day our newest dealer in Colorado, BIG RING CYLCES, hosted the start of the ride, which found the group exploring uncharted territory for most, up to the KOM. A MASSIVE group of 50-60 riders showed up and off we went. 19 miles and 4500 feet of climbing later we arrived at the KOM and set up a view camp out of the Moots van. Drinks, snacks and viewing what would be the desisive attack of the entire stage race.
A downtown Denver circuit race was on tap for the final day, but before the racing started the group headed off to climb Lookout Mountain. Bike paths and bike lanes took us from the center of the city up to the foothills for a beautiful loop and back down. Once down on the race course, riders snacked on Bijou’s Little Curry Shop wraps and drank cold drinks to celebrate a great few days of riding and making new friends.

ALPHA BICYCLE CO.-GROOVE SUBARU pb/MOOTS CX TEAM CAMP–JON CARIVEAU, MARKETING
Yes. #crossiscoming or more to the point, #crossishere OR how about #crossneverleaves ? Over the past 3 seasons we have been a proud partner in this amazing team that continues to chrun out great young adults and impresive results. This year four athletes make up the tip of the spear for this developmental team. They are all National Champions past and present. The focus for them this year will be U23 results on a national level with reginonal races keeping them sharp in the pro ranks.
This past weekend the team came to Steamboat to visit the factory and see just what goes into those PSYCHLO X RSL’s they will be racing near and far this year. Each day of camp was filled with dawn hikes up local canyons, long dirt and gravel rides and afternoon sessions to sharpen those skills that will be needed every weekend from here on out through February.
