From show floor to under the rider in 24 hours—
As we look back a the North American Handmade Bicycle Show…….that wrapped up this past Sunday afternoon, we take a look at another bike that we had in our booth.  The subject is a large size Baxter.  As far as show builds go it was pretty straight forward, XTR Di2, Enve rigid carbon mountain fork, Mavic Crossmax 29er wheels, Salsa Cow Chipper bars, Chris King headset & bb, 3 water bottle cage locations (which are stock on the Baxter), but this bike was also showing our off our new anodized finish in FROST BLUE.  It was a stunner for sure.
Back to the subtitle of this….getting from Salt Lake City for us is a 5.5 hour drive. Â We drove home on Monday as to avoid the petting zoo that is Northwest Colorado. Â (read, largest elk heard in the state)….so we drove during the day. Â Once back we unloaded the van and called it a day.
The very next day the proud owner of this new Baxter mounted pedals and was off riding pavement, dirt roads and even some town level trail that had melted out over the last week. Â The moral of the story? We make show worthy bikes everyday of the week. Â These bikes are attainable works of art that are meant to be ridden, not just looked at. Â Sure, it matters what they look like and that they catch your eye, but really we are here building show bikes that can be delivered in less than 8 weeks across 18 models and ride like no other. Â Most of the time our delivery runs more like 4-6 weeks from time of order. Â We think that makes Moots pretty special in every regard.
The Baxter featured at NAHBS is for the owner of the company and believe me when I say he loves to ride and loves to see our crew design, build and ride the pants off of our bikes. Â He was itching to take Baxter for a ride as we headed back to Steamboat. Â Brent even made a ride up to the natural hot springs that sit outside and above town.
Baxter out for a dip at the Steamboat Hot Springs on the first ride.
