Famous for their bearings, colors and precision machining, Chris King is also getting to be known for their Open House weekend. Held each fall, they host builders and bicycle industry types from around the country for a 3 day get-together to talk about industry standards, independent bike shops and how we all work together to make our products the best they can be. The show culminates on a Saturday when the entire King facility if open to the public to take factory tours, view new product and see a extensive display of handbuilt bikes.
This year we were invited to build a bike (1 of 18 builders asked) for the open house to feature a new color that Chris King launched at the event. We had a choice of Matte Mango or Matte Turquoise. We went with the Matte Mango because it just really looked warm next to our blasted and etched finish.
Below is a small collection of images by John Watson of the Radavist.
