WHAT’S NEW AT MOOTS 17/18?

What’s New at Moots?

Since we are hot off showing bikes at Eurobike and within the items that we showed are some very note worthy changes to call out. Let’s dig in, show and explain what we have going shall we?

All of these changes and options are in place now and can be order as such. I think it’s worth noting that at Moots we don’t change for changes sake, so these offerings come after many debates that lead to really well thought out execution of the designs and viability of reproducing them, time and time again.

ROUTT, ROUTT 45 AND VAMOOTS DR MOVE TO FLAT MOUNT AS STOCK

Flat mount disc brake mount moves the caliper inside the rear triangle, clean looks, road, gravel and cross specific. We’ve been building the RSL line of disc bikes with flatmount, now it comes into the rest of the road, gravel and cross models.  Mountain bikes will remain post mount.

All Moots gravel and road disc are now flat mount
6/4 titanium 3D printed disc mount, for superior strength & stiffness
Clean aesthetics moving the caliper inside the rear triangle
Integrates with standard Moots Breezer style dropout and 142 x 12 thru axle

Flat mount disc brake mount pictured above.  Uses our standard Breezer style dropouts with 142 x 12 thru-axle.  (eyelets pictured are optional add-ons)

INTERNAL REAR BRAKE ROUTING—NEW OPTION AVAILABLE

Internal routing entry point, just off center on the downtube. In-house CNC made ports to guide the brake line.

This new option takes the brake line inside the downtube (on disc models) or inside the top tube (non-disc models) in our road, gravel and cyclocross models. Those looking for an ultra clean look to your Moots now can order this option on new frame orders. Sorry, we cannot retro fit this to existing frames. Internal Option adds $300.00 to the price of the frame.

Integrated design for clean aesthetics
In-house made CNC weld-ins
Developed specifically for our road, gravel and cyclocross bikes
Developed to meet Moots standards and strengths
Lifetime warranty

Exit point just in front of the bb shell.

Around the bottom bracket and along the bottom side of the non-drive chainstay.

VAMOOTS DR GOES TO FAST BACK

The Vamoots DR looses the monstay and goes to a traditional fastback seat stay kit just like the Vamoots RSL and Vamoots.

Standard features on the Vamoots DR are:

44mm head tube

flat mount disc brake mount

142 x 12 rear thru-axle

9 stock sizes

MOOTS MOUNTAIN BIKES

At Moots we are super proud of our heritage and a large part of the heritage came from being a mountain bike pioneer. Innovations and the best craftsmanship make great bikes. For the mountain bikes in the Moots line this is more of a “did you know” area. What is the state of Moots mountain bikes? This is where we are at:

148 boost spacing throughout line—-stronger/stiffer wheels, bigger tire clearance
Stealth routing for dropper seat posts on all models
Wide range of bikes for every condition you might encounter
Built to the highest quality standards
U.S.-made materials

A reminder of our models and intended use:

MOOTO X RSL (hardtail 29er)—-XC race and core riding, 100mm fork
MOOTO X YBB (softail 29er) XC with Moots’ legendary YBB softail 120mm fork
FARWELL (hardtail 27.5’’ plus) 120-140 fork for versatile ride
MOUNTAINEER YBB (27.5’’ plus), Moots’ softail for long distance adventure 120-140mm fork
FROSTHAMMER Ultra fat tire for snow bike riding

We also have a slew up updates coming to the website, new stories to share, a new video that will launch soon and several travel events before the year is over.  Don’t stop riding just because the weather has cooled off, this is when it gets really good.  Gotta get out there before winter arrives.

Thanks for reading,

See you on the bike!
