The FARWELL—Ready and waiting for mud season to pass. Most that might read our blog likely don’t live in Steamboat. They live in other areas that don’t have a long drawn-out winter like we do. Town is just over
GrassMoots rider Dave Gensch writes in about the ride window……we all know it well……
The week has come and gone and after last weekend I started thinking about how as cyclists there are phases of riding this that and the other…..road bikes, mountain bikes, cyclocross and now gravel bikes. We’ve been here before as riders….we love to ride no matter what the industry or marketing people might call that riding….
Andrew Carney one of the longest standing GrassMoots riders we have and this year he is tackling The Tour Divide. The challenges of that alone will make most weak in the knees, try living in Summit County, Colorado on top of that…….he writes in with an update…….
Towards the end of Fly Gulch is a cow pond that is home to the “other” Northwest Colorado gator. Mr. Moots loves to visit this spot….you know….”family time”. We’ve just past under 8 weeks to go until we host our 4th Annual Moots-Colorado Ranch Rally! The event is just about sold out, if you hurry you may still be able to get in.
Cobbles, wind, bergs, cheeseburgers and Moots titanium. What do all of these have in common? BELGIUM. Our International Sales Director Matt Alford……..
Back to our normal programing…..Our Weekend update resumes and finds us encountering a Colorado spring…..warmer temperatures, rising rivers, dry dirt roads and trips west to find open single track. A cast of characters makes up the whole here at Moots….these are just some of them:
After a long day in the saddle Nick is greated by his family. Nick Stillwell is a member of our GrassMoots Team and writes in this week about his 4th Vision Quest bike event that covered 56.5 miles and climbed 11,000 feet! He writes……. Participated in my 4th Vision Quest this weekend here in So Cal and boy I’m glad that’s out of the way…that is one tough event!
Late last week we got out for a little dirt road jam during lunch. Shot with a new GoPro Kama gimbal stick…makes for smooth shooting on rough surfaces. The Airport Loop is our go-to 20 mile lap. Some of this is on the Ranch Rally route that is coming our way in June of this year. Fun to ride with work mates and even get in a friendly sprint with a local rancher.
