Wow. Was that a weekend or what? Not sure about you, but to say it was great would be an understatement. Summertime in full swing, events
I’ve spent 11 years in Steamboat, ridden thousands of miles around Routt county, and yet still there are dirt roads untouched and interesting routes schemed up but yet to be ridden. Our home here in Routt County sits in the corner
Butch Boucher president of Moots (r) presents Marsha Daughenbaugh president of the CAA (l) a check for $5,000.00 raised by the Ranch Rally. A few photos here and links below to massive galleries taken during the day of the Ranch Rally. The clean up is done, the signs put away and the hay is being cut, but the buzz of the 4th Annual Moots Colorado Ranch Rally remains.
GrassMoots rider Dave Gensch writes in about the ride window……we all know it well……
The week has come and gone and after last weekend I started thinking about how as cyclists there are phases of riding this that and the other…..road bikes, mountain bikes, cyclocross and now gravel bikes. We’ve been here before as riders….we love to ride no matter what the industry or marketing people might call that riding….
Towards the end of Fly Gulch is a cow pond that is home to the “other” Northwest Colorado gator. Mr. Moots loves to visit this spot….you know….”family time”. We’ve just past under 8 weeks to go until we host our 4th Annual Moots-Colorado Ranch Rally! The event is just about sold out, if you hurry you may still be able to get in.
Cobbles, wind, bergs, cheeseburgers and Moots titanium. What do all of these have in common? BELGIUM. Our International Sales Director Matt Alford……..
Back to our normal programing…..Our Weekend update resumes and finds us encountering a Colorado spring…..warmer temperatures, rising rivers, dry dirt roads and trips west to find open single track. A cast of characters makes up the whole here at Moots….these are just some of them:
Late last week we got out for a little dirt road jam during lunch. Shot with a new GoPro Kama gimbal stick…makes for smooth shooting on rough surfaces. The Airport Loop is our go-to 20 mile lap. Some of this is on the Ranch Rally route that is coming our way in June of this year. Fun to ride with work mates and even get in a friendly sprint with a local rancher.
Mat Barlow has been in and around the bike industry since he was in diapers and is now partner in our Boulder, Colorado dealer, VECCHIO’S BICICLETTERIA. He was kind enough to give us a little insight into his Baxter after he’s put some serious time on it. The versatility of the Baxter allows him to switch between a faster rolling Compass tire on a Mavic Crossmax wheel set to a wide Derby rim with 50mm Clements mounted. What’s your route today? Switch wheel set and you are gone! words & photos by: MAT BARLOW—-BAXTER IN A NUT SHELL…..if that’s possible. MOOTS: Give us a little background of you and bikes…..
Moots has signed on as a TITANIUM level sponsor for the 2017 Jensie Gran Fondo of Marin. We will be on site during the event, riding the event and offering VIP riders demo bikes for the weekend. Join us during this classic ride in early October.
