We don't get too much wet weather in the winter where I live, but occasionally the local trails are closed. As a relatively low cost way to keep training (on my Moots YBB 26) when the trails are closed I have opted to purchase a set of Stan's 29er Arch or Crest (haven't quite decided yet) wheels, another Sram cassette, a set of the same rotors that are on my 26in wheelset, and some Specialized Borough CX Armadillo Elite tires (700x32). I tried a regular rode wheelset in the frame and it worked fine so I'm hoping this works out ok. I figure I will need some minor brake adjustments each time I switch out the wheelsets, but it shouldn't be too bad. I'm also thinking my next purchase will be a Mooto X or Psychlo X so the 29er wheelset will be one less thing to buy. Let me know your thoughts on my potential setup.
