Can you totally lock out the ybb slider and if so are there any negative effects to the ybb unit. Thanks

Yes, you can lock out the Ybb with a 5mm allen. Clamp it down and it is locked out...however, if you really take a big hit it will move a little...and that's a good thing so nothing gets damaged.
