Ok, so nothing to do with Moots, but it's the Olympics and its thrilling road race. Was it just me, or was the opening ceremony completely bizarre? I thought I had dropped a hit of acid and was watching a Pink Floyd show from the '70's.

The race was as good, or better, than any stage in this years Tour. Massive crowds and what an ending. Poor Fabian! He went in way too hot (who doesn't like watching Fabian motor a bike - he is a machine). Boonen flatting with 6 miles to go? aaggh. The peleton just waiting and waiting - and waiting too long. The complete nobody Columbian jumps the break and Vino is the only to go with? With all his detractors, that guy is ever aggressive - what a finish. Taylor Phinney misses a medal by inches and Duggan and Teejay are all over the television. I thought is was a tremendous event.

I must say, and again, maybe it's just me - but does Paul Sherwin 'over state' absolutely and positively everything? (That's a pun). I've never heard someone over use words so much - I mean every corner has 'great risks', each climb, every sweeping downhill, any feed zone is absolutely this or positively that. Now cycling can certainly be a demanding and dangerous sport, but you would think these guys are playing 'chicken' at a busy train crossing.

    All-n-all, though, a hell of a race.

Let's hope Vino didn't gift us a positive dope test as his swan song.

Great race tho.....makes you wonder if more races would be like that with the lack of radios controlling the robots?

Very good point. I miss the days of no radios.

Ahh yes, the Olymics. The road race was good watch, but I don't follow all the politics and other rubbish. Let each man/woman ride for themselves I say!

Looking forward to the upcoming XC race. I'm surprised about all the criticism about the track though. I've heard people talking 'I could ride that on my rode bike'.

Unfortunately, Australia doesn't stand a chance, but it will be good to watch none the less. No team radios in mountain biking!

No team radios in mtbiking, but as an old school rider, I detest the "pits". Make them change their flats and repair their stuff like in the old days.

Anyone seen any BMX? That course looks awesome, I doubt anyone could brag " I could do that"

I was there at the road race and the atmosphere was electric, GB has definatly felt the Wiggo effect when it comes to bikes.

The whole of the olympics was great and now the whole country is on a high

Went to Beijing, and London and already started saving for Rio
