Have a line on some nice carbon hoops and though about running something as large as 27 Challenge or FMB tires on my Compact. Anyone have experience running tubulars of that size on a 2009 era Compact frame?

Last year I ran the 27mm Challenge (clincher) in my Vamoots SL that is a little older than your Compact, but has the same chain stays. I had room, but just. The fork was not a problem, but on one or two rides I got a little "muddy" and wore a groove in one of the chainstays. Nothing that killed the frame, but something I don't want to do more of.We typically quote a 25c as max, with some (Conti Gator Skin) 28's working as well.
Those tires ride so sweet that I'm running more of them this year on my cx rig as my road bike. Chip seal, gravel, packed dirt roads....so nice. I've been hearing rumor that Challange is set to some out with the same tire in a 30c. Balloners!! Can't wait for those.

Yes, I am. I have them mounted on my Psychlo X as it is my roadie these days as well.Love the ride of them and have gotten good wear considering the surface of our roads.
