I've got the 'Cross Melburn national series race on the 15th so I'll bow out on this one and catch you all on the next one. Sounds like a good time.

    Hi Folks,

    So, to recap:
    Tim - In
    Rob - In
    Craig - Out
    Will -Out
    Russell - Likely Out
    Rich - ?

I'm hesitant to flip-flop on the dates. Its hard to hit a moving target. If Rob is still keen, lets go for the 15th and report back.

Maybe a follow up in Aug ? It might even be a bit drier / warmer by then!

Yeah guys, I'm definately OUT. I tried to go for a ride on road today but the arm and elbow just aren't up to it yet (10 weeks post crash). So there is no way I'm going to get off road by the 15th. But keep me in the loop for August.

Picked up the MootoX frame from Cycling edge yesterday and can't wait to get to work tomorrow and start to build it up.

I reckon my elbow will make a miraculous recovery when I see the bike built up. I just won't be able to not ride it!!!

    Tim- yep I'm in.

Russ- pictures please, when built. I'm interested to see how you go with the Rotor cranks re: chainstay clearance etc- you running 3x10, 2x10 or 1x10?

    Hey Rob,

I'm running 2x10 and I offered up the cranks to the frame this evening at work. All seems fine. Clearance is fine. The only real problem is that Rotor give you heaps of spacers for every conceivable press fit BB and lots of info on how to use them, but as far as a traditional 68mm threaded goes, they are a bit lacking. But I should be able to figure it out. I am a bike mechanic after all. I have to say though, the Q-rings look decidely more oval than my old Bio-pace rings of yester year!! I'm not sure how I'm going to go on them, but I'm looking forward to trying. I'll send a couple of pics once it's all built up.

Hi Guys we are keen to get involved and Nick M and I have had some fun on both sides of the highway at Woodend over the last 3 weekends on the MXRSL and Rigormootis. I am dead slow being unfit and lacking any tech skills and gladly happy to carry the "brown lantern".

Can't make the 15th as we have a team running at the National CX Series. Perhaps next time.

    Hi Peter, Paul and Nick,

Woodend is great and very wet (from the look of your bikes).

If you like Woodend, you'll love Buxton- its worth the drive out there...

Hey Guys I was thinking this post seems to be dominating the forum and thought that maybe someone could volunteer to post their Email address for the rest of us to send our details to, to organise rides.
I'd offer but I just dont have the time at the moment.
Shame there is not a PM function on this site to do this.
    Anyway just a thought.
    Cheers

    Hi Folks,

I do love the plantations in woodend/macedon. They still get pretty wet in winter and I can only pray the moto's stay away or they'll get ruined. These trails are very flowy and have an excellent mix of trail features. Great place in summer to practice "pumping" I found.

Buxton drains much better, and is also a blast. I only make it out there once/twice a year though.

I think I'm still on for the 15th with Rob @ YY. How about a 10am pedal off from rangers office ?

Still be great to follow up with an August or Sept. ride and get a few more bikes along. I'm a little uneasy with been an organiser, but happy to fight spammers and relay emails if anyone wants:

So... a bit belated but none the less, pleased to report the YY ride went well. Rob was much fitter than me, but we both enjoyed a good ride and talked bikes most of the way.

So, who's up for Buxton ? some time in August ?

Bikes look great and glad you guys had a good time. Always nice to see the sun out and a couple of beautiful bikes ready to shred.

I might be OK for Buxton in August, but the arm is refusing to heal as fast as I had hoped. Back on the road bike, but still not ready for the trails.

I've finished building up the MootoX and now just waiting to get out and try the bike/arm.

I have a a couple of pics I'm sending to the Gallery at Moots, but how do I get one up here for you guys to see?

    G'day guys,

Was a good day out at the Youies. Very keen to get over to Buxton plus the trails you mentioned over a Woodend, Tim.

A mate and I went over to explore a bit of the Walmer state forest last Saturday at Castlemaine- great network of trails out there too.

I'd also be pretty keen to find out how to post pics here Tim if you can give us some tips.

    cheers

    Rob

    Howdy,

Woodend really needs a few dry days to become good. Hard to do in the middle of winter.

    The pics are easy ....
Step 1 - Upload your pic somewhere on the internet like Picassa, image shack, photo bucket or whatever. From this you should get a URL to the picture. eg:
    http://somewhere/something.jpg

Step 2 - Put a post on here, and use HTML codes to embed the picture. The forum shows "Allowed markup" include the img tag like:
    <img src="http://somewhere/something.jpg" />

    G'day Tim (et al.,)

Tim I flicked an e-mail to you but thought I'd post up here too.

I'm meeting a mate at Wombat/Woodend tomorrow at 9am (Sunday 5th Aug) if you'd like to join us for a jaunt around the trails (any and all welcome).

    Cheers

    Thanks Rob, I'll be there.

Not sure how muddy it will be, but thats what mountain biking is all about I guess. Any thoughts of checking out the plantation section ?

If I'm not totally zonked keeping up with you, might be fun to check out later on.
