Anybody else suffering thru this heatwave? Here in PA we hit over 100 yesterday (with the humidity it felt worse) and today at lunchtime it's already over 100. Tomorrow is supposed to be another scorcher.

WIMP!! 21 consecutive days over 100 with another 11 straight forecast. As we say in TX "you don't shovel heat Brother". Saddle up and suck it up. Really tough is what the Schleck's and Evans did to each other the past two days. Climbing like that is inspiring.
ha ha, ok... so maybe I'm not a fan of this excessive heat but it doesn't stop me from riding, you just gotta get up earlier in the morning to beat the midday heat. I think I'm melting!
Sorry guys, it only hit 85 here today. The lunch ride (with brutal intervals) was excellent. When it gets warm (over 100) I have to remember to ride the road bike so I have some apparent wind. On hot mountain bike days I can't keep up with the water loss on the climbs. I've measured a six pound water deficit in less than two hours. Makes me lazy for the rest of the day.
thermometer indicated 112 earlier today @ 3pm, thank God for the pool.
... and on the other side of the globe:
Toomorrow's Max = 11c
Brrrrr ... I need a holiday in Steamboat to thaw out :)
It has been ugly here. Went for a very short recovery ride yesterday (15 miles), around 1PM. Yikes.
Was riding by 5am this morning here in Orange County, CA to try to beat the heat...the marine layer was thick but we knew once it burned off it would get hot hot hot especially up in the Santa Ana Mountains. Got a 6+ hour ride in today (60 miles and 9,800 feet of climbing). The temps hit 100F on one of out climbs...that's hot for here in So Cal....doesn't sound like much compared to what the midwest is getting though.

Sorry to be contrary but this am I went out to pre ride the Steamboat Stinger course on Emerald Mt and with the 58deg temp and the knee high dew covered grass, I got chilly on the ride down to the Yampa Core Trail. Start for the race is 8am, I may need a jacket for the ride to the start. But after this winter anytime it's not snowing counts as summer.
Had a reprieve from the heat this weekend, but the "heat dome" is supposed to be back in action today. Heat dome...really? Who makes this stuff up?
heavy downpours after work today, rode in the rain and it was wonderful!
While riding this afternoon I noticed the birds using pot holders to pull the worms out of the ground. 23 straight days over 100. A balmy 104 degrees at 6 pm revealed that asphalt does indeed have a liquid stage. Oh for the hills of Greenland
