The upcoming version of DI2 (9070) has the option of integrating the battery into the seat post. I have two questions related to this:
(1) Can Shimano's new (seat post compatible) version of the battery be integrated into Moot's seat post without modification? If no, will Moot's do the modification, or will it need to be sent to a third-party. I believe Calfee currently provides this support.
(2) I assume that integrating the battery into the seat post will eliminate the need for external battery mounts, as well as any ports through which to pass the power cable. If that is correct, will frame modifications going forward be specific to the selection of battery type, or will all DI2 modified frames be constructed to support both battery options?
