I have a 2004 26YBB with a 2004 Shimano XTR group and want to move up to the new XTR group. I've read the posts from a year ago and it sounds like there were issues installing the new group on an older frame - not enough clearance at the chain stays. However, the various comments left me a little confused.
Are there any updates on fitting the new XTR crank on a 2004 YBB frame? Although I wanted to go with a double crank, it sounded like if I stay with a triple crank, I should be okay. Your thoughts are appreciated.
