Saw an earlier post about problems with Avid brakes and the Psychlo-X. Is there a comprehensive listing of brakes that will/won't work? Am I safe with all TRP models? Got my Psychlo-X last week and need to get parts ordered..

Any size limitations on tire width? I'm thinking some of the Schwalbe 35's might be fun to try out for JRA and wanted to make sure that they would fit...

The new Avid shorty Ultimates were built with a 22mm lenght canti post in mind. We are using a 21mm post (there are two industry standards) so there is a small issue, but fixed with a this washer/spacer. Avid is aware of this issue and will be changing the design of the brake itself.

TRP....no worries there...

Tire size limitations....for the most part you can run a 34c tubular (big & fat) with good clearance. Tire call out varies from maker to maker....I belive you'll be okay with the Schwalbe...

Bike is all built up and I can confirm that the 35c tires with wider Hed Belgium rims work fine- plenty of clearance. My second Moots and I love it. Hopefully get a break in ride this weekend...

If you're going to really have a do everything bike don't forget to add the couplers so you can take your best friend along with you on your travels. Two trips to Europe saving $500 each trip on bike luggage fees and it pays for itself.

I don't want to open up another can of 50 questions, but the UCI has done away with the disc brake ban. So discs are now allowed and I would bet that any and all crossers are gonna go that way. Canti's on cross bikes will be the v-brakes of the mountain bike world. There is a photo on the Gallery section with a crosser with discs (I think I saw it there).

After a slightly muddy CX practice session today, I think that my tire/rim choices are not ideal for this frame. There is room on both side (no rubbing), but a bit of mud caked on that could be a problem. I'm a newbie to cross, so no real experience to make that conclusion. Again, this is for the 35c Racing Ralph tires and Hed C2 Belgian rims. I'll have a set of Hed Belgium C2 tubies with Challenge Fangos and I think that clearance will be better. I will report back with details. Likely going to keep the RR for bike path riding and get some Challenge 32 clinchers for training. Still loving the bike and looking forward to racing in the upcoming weeks.
