Got a set of replacement decals for my layback cinch post. Is there a right way and a wrong way to apply them?
    Thx.

If you don't want to have to keep replacing them I suggest this way - Spectrum Powder Works

    Hi D

Do you mean in terms of where the decal should be positioned or how to actually apply the them? If it's the latter, I recently ordered a new set for a frame and it came with instructions. Do you need a copy of them? If it's positioning, check the pics in the shop.

    Cheers

Ok, if JonC hasn't posted them in the interim I'll dig out the instructions I received and share them when I get home tonight.

    Ok - Here you go....

    Decal Replacement Instructions

Wash your bike thoroughly using hot soapy water to remove dirt and grease.

Remove old decal set. Pre 2004 use acetone on cloth or lint free paper towel changing cloth or towel to ensure no milky residue. Post 2005 use a heat gun or hairdryer to heat decals, then peel. Use extreme caution! Don't burn yourself, they got hot!

Check again to ensure all residue is gone.

To apply new decals: in order for the decals to adhere to the frame, make sure the bike has been in a warm room before attempting to apply decals.

    1. Place the decal onto the chosen area of the frame, making sure it is straight and even. (This takes a good eye)...do your best.
    2. As you lay the decal down on the frame use your hand to help it along. Go slowly and evenly to make sure you do not leave any bubbles or wrinkles. After repeating the process to cover all the decals on the frame, use a soft plastic card (drivers license or something similar) to firmly press the decal onto the frame.
    3. Let the decals "set" on the frame overnight so the glue can bond to the frame, then peel off the clear coating. Go slow, making sure not to tear or peel up the decal.
    4. Once complete with the application use Lemon Pledge on the frame to shine the frame to its original luster.

    Cheers

The dog and I just got back from our walkies and I checked the mail before heading in and guess what... Kassi @ Moots (she's great) sent me another set of seatpost decals and this time she even included the destructions! So now I have a spare set and I also scored a sweet Moots sticker too, Awesome!

I'm curious as to why the decals have such a short life...these Moots decals are quite fragile. One time on the park stand at home and my seatpost decals are already peeling??!!

Yep... that's what got me too, my feedback repair stand tore mine up. I've since learned to wrap a piece of foam pipe insulation around the seatpost when working on the bike. So far so good...
