I'm traveling to Sydney in early April, this will be my first trip to Australia, I was wondering if any of our members that live or has been to Sydney can recommend places to get some good eats.
Thanks,
D.

Hey there,
I'm in Oz (though about 800km from Sydney). Are you going to get some riding in whilst your here ?
What sort of food do you like ? Will you be in Sydney CBD ?
There are some good sites like:

Hi Exie,
Thanks for the link, I appreciate it.
We're staying at the Quay Grand suites down near the Opera House and Botanical Gardens. I've never been there before but that's where my company made our reservations. The airfare and hotel are both free so I'm not complaining :-)
Unfortunately I'm not bringing the Moots with me on this trip and truth be told I'd rather not wrestle my 'Tri-All 3' case through another airport again so the PX stays home this time. However I will be bringing my Limmer boots with me and plan to do a little exploring.
As far as food goes, I'm looking for your basic 'steak & potatoes' and 'stick to your ribs' kind of places. Tara and I are not big fans of Applebees/Olive Garden cookie-cutter boxes.
Thanks again,
D.
Hi Dom,
The quay grand is very nice, I've stayed there before, its in "the rocks" district and is lovely. It's very picturesque, you'll have a great time there!
I'm with you on the 'steak & potatoes' but cant say I've found any stand-out places in Sydney for that. If you were coming to Melbourne, I could certainly point you in the right direction.
I do know a Moots owner in Sydney, so chances are someone better informed could frequent these forums and provide some better tips.
Hey Exie
Sydney is my home town, but after 25 years of living in London, I'm probably not the best to ask !!
As for food, a great place to eat used to be the Woolloomoloo Bay Hotel which is on the other side of the Syndey Opera House from your hotel, proper good pub food. In the Rocks there are tons of good food places, but if you want my "have to" go to place, walk to Circular Quay, get on a ferry to Watsons Bay and go to Doyles, if you like sea food, Peter Doyles restaurant is the best, last time I went, it was expensive (Exie in Sydney !!) but not stupidly, but the view is to die for and the food is awesome.
Thai, Vietnamese and Chinese in Sydney is outstanding, to be honest, there are a huge number of great places to eat. if you want cheap, go to a pub that does a DIY BBQ ! They are brilliant, but probably more suburban than you will be.
If you'd like to drop me a line, I can put you in touch with a mate who lives south of Sydney but is much more in touch with the good places. Are you in the States ?? Email me to the last 4 letters of my username, followed by a dot then (p a r r) no gaps and lose the brackets then an @ sign, then gmail.com and that will find me. (hope that makes sense !)
Have a great trip, I went back to Aus to live for a couple of years about 7 ago, couldn't live there anymore, but an awesome place for a holiday.
