   Ok, as the title says, I'm kinda of a big guy (big mostly in the gut!), and I need help finding a pair of bib knickers that I can use in Winter. I'm wearing Aerotechdesign's bib shorts in a 3xl and they fit pretty good (except for the HUGE seam running underneath the chamois, irritates after awhile). Unfortunately they don't make a pair of knickers. They do sell other brands of knickers (LG, Descente, Campy) but I don't know how their sizing compares to ours here in the USA, usually the euro sizing tends to run a lot smaller.

   Any sagely wisdom from our larger riders who've been down this road? Thanks.

   PS. I tend to run hot so I'm really don't need a pair of heavy-duty Winter tights, I have have leg and arm warmers for when it starts to get cold so a pair of knickers with good wind protection would probably work best, just something to take the edge off. Thanks again.

   I have a pair of Trek brand bib knickers. They're a bit heavy and the pad isn't the best, but they're serviceable and good for winter/cold riding. Their only problem is they run a bit on the large size.

   I wouldn't usually wear a pair of Trek anything, but they were on a close-out sale, so I couldn't pass 'em up.

   The fabrics that Rapha uses for its bibs, knickers, tights, etc. don't have as much compression as a lot of the Euro brands, so you might like those. They seem to fit a wide range of body types well, which you can't say of a lot of the other brands.

   thanks tbill, I was checking out the knee warmers on the Rapha website earlier, they look nice and all that but 65 smackers (for the cheaper pair!) of what looks like nothing more than a couple of oversized wrist bands, I dunno...

   The bib knickers aren't cheap either, but they are in the same price range as other premium brands (Capo, Vermarc, etc.) and not as high as others, like Assos. Come to think of it, the fabric used on the knickers is a Roubaix fabric, so it is closer to the others in terms of compression. The fabric in Rapha's standard bibs (not the team bibs) has noticeably less compression which many people find very comfortable, but you weren't looking for bibs.

   try DHB I am of the larger build (altough short and squat rather than tall and broad). We do have some massive riders in the club and of course trackies come in some massive dimensions. DHB clothing tends be the favorite of these fellas.
