evrybody who likes to join a ride Start in AACHEN , to nicestet worldcuproads in Holland and belgium in spring can connect me.
I know all the good" far from Traffic" roads of Amstel gold race and the spring WORLDCUP CLASSICS in our region.

cool--i am back from surfing...
i lived in vaals for 10 year..now moved back to aachen...we most propably know the same roads!!
let meet for a drink or pancake at the near future and show our bikes to each other..i haver several moots..also rsl x but not built yet..

I'm planning on getting a Moots in the next few months. This saturday I'm gonna test ride a 56cm Vamoots at Knoops in Mierlo to experience what it's all about.
My main ride is a 56cm Cervelo RS that I've had since May 2010. I like the comfort and my position is perfect on this frame.
However, I miss the metallic feel that I get from my 1999 Litespeed Natchez and steel bikes (used to ride a Merckx MX-Leader for a while).
I wonder how different the Moots will be from the Natchez and RS. The Litespeed is super comfy and plush, but it lacks stiffness due to the 1" quill set up. (the Cinelli Grammo stem is a noodle too :) )
If I like the Vamoots I will order a 58cm frame... the 57cm TT and 17cm HT should be very similar to my Cervelo, so I can get the same position on the bike. Not sure about the fork yet... want to try the ENVE 2.0 as I've read nothing but good things about 'em. Maybe the Moots fork is the best choice, but I really don't like the painted look. A Ti frame needs a black carbon fork imo.
Anyway, I may join in this spring for a Moots ride. I live in Eindhoven (born and raised in Kerkrade) and I often ride the Zuid Limburg hills with my riding buddies who all live in the Heerlen area.
Will also be participating organised rides like Limburg Mooiste, Grenslandklassieker and Klimmen Monschau Klimmen.

super..get a moots and won t regret..i had merlin etc but the moots is very much differnt...fast accell. , stiff , totally balanced but fast!
try it out !
i talked to another guy from heerlen , and we gonna meet soon on a sunday within next 4-6 weeks dep. on weather for a small ride (2 hours ca,)

Cool, will contact you after saturday once I've ridden the Vamoots. I will put my own wheels, saddle and pedals on the bike to get a good comparison with my current frame. I know how other wheels/tires can make a huge difference... heck, even tire pressure alone.
I believe the Vamoots they have is an older model (maybe 2009) because the chainstays looked shorter than the current model. It also still has the older Alpha Q forks.
1cm longer chainstays will sure make for a different handling bike.

if u ride a vamoots /(mootour) geo its might be different but usually a COMPACT or VAMOOTS from 2009 is almost the same as the 2012 models..it just 2mm in the TT that differs....
i hope u enjoy the ride and maybe u can asure the right SIZE which is the BIG difference in between a 56 or 58 cm choice...i ride 56 with longer stems(120 and 125mm)----
beware not to go too big in framesize i recommand!

Well, we decided to testride some other day... roads and bikepaths were still very wet from the constant drizzle we had.
And after an hour a bike can get very dirty. Better to test it on dry roads so I can safely do some sharp cornering to test the handling.
Bummer, was really looking forward to ride the Vamoots... now it'll be at least two weeks for another chance. IF the weather will be okay.
Regarding size... My current two rides both have a 56.5cm TT, which is a minimum for my height (6'1"). between 56.5cm and 57cm is ideal.
And I like the taller headtube of the regular Vamoots. The longer chainstays should be comfy and I'm partial to the classic frame shape.
But... maybe it lacks snappiness and would the CR be better for me. This one on the other hand has way shorter stays and more radical angles. And I would need 20mm more spacer to get the same position.
Missed a lovely 57cm 2008 Moots Compact on german eBay two weeks ago. Don't know how I could've missed that. It had the perfect geometry right in between the current Vamoots and CR. And only 1300 euros :(
It's hard to decide if you can't compare the different models in the right size.

the snnappness to loose is quite a bad thing i asume...CR is /like compact still very nice for touring...u can order 1cm longer HT for free without going customn as far as i know...
i am just a bit smaller than u but would never go bigger than 56 cr...use a 120 ,125 or 130 stem and u ll be right anyway..
