WTB a Moots S & S coupled frame. A long shot I know but stranger things happen :-)
I'm looking for a frame ideally for 700c wheels. Size 52cm ish in a cross and 54cm ish in a road and I don't really what in a tourer/ commuter/ Mooto X. Any frame style will be considered. This post remains valid until I return to edit close the thread.

It's a very long shot but I will sell you mine for $10,000 (NOT a typo); my guess is you would do better buying it new from Moots. Well worth the money after 10 years you won't even realized you saved $500 buying it used and you get to retain the warrenty if anything ever goes wrong.

Thanks. Yes choosing to go new would be the easiest route (and although it would give me total choice that can also be a complication at times). I have some time before I need to have the bike ready for action. I've got some more work to do on this project before I'm clear in my own mind about what the full range of options are and what really is the best way to go for an S & S frame.
For a Moots coupler frame it seems I can go stock or custom and get couplers added. As I'm only 5' 9 1/2" tall I feel I'm not quite tall enough to benefit from a Mooto X. (too much of a bike for me, especially with the high front end and very chunky tires) I'm looking more at a cross type frame or something in that generalish style if I go custom.
How much is a stock cross with couplers? I can't see any prices on this site.

Speedgoat used to have a great site with the price of the frame and options. I guess Speedgoat doesn't sell Moots anymore. I stopped by my local Moots Dealer (Procycling) and asked them. From Procycling the Phyclo Frame is right at $3,000 the couplers are another $1,200 that includes custom. Not too bad because the cost of custom is $650. At $165/each way for your Moots to go on a plane ride it doesn't take long to pay the couplers off and then you start saving. I used to ship my bike ahead to my destination. UPS beat the heck out of my VaMoots SL and it was costing me $60-$80 each way plus I was without my bike for 5 days. If it got lost in UPS I wouldn't know for at least 5 days, now I know right when I get off the plane and I can start the report and search within hours instead of days. Plus I couldn't insure my bike for its full value through UPS, I guess I can't really insure through the Airlines either. I have never had any problems with the Airlines and I have traveled with it about 10 times a year. Anyways it's really nice to ride my own bike when I travel.

edit: It would be best if you contacted your local Moots dealer to ask them what they charge. Local bike shops will typically work some deals on such highend bikes that they don't have to stock.
