For those in USA who may have not heard of Cape Epic, its an epic 9 day race through mountains of South Africa. (No, you don't get to race lions chasing behind you). I would say quite comparable to Trans Rockies of Canada.
I intend taking my Moots YBB (17") with 2X9 gear setup and custom wheelset built with Stan's ZTR crest front & arch rear rims. I have not been worrying too much with latest developments in xc frames ever since I started riding my moots ybb but one frame stands out to me as a worth alternative. The latest Cannondale Scalpel with 80mm rear travel. Super-light and responsive soft tail carbon frame. Would someone have an answer?
Then again, I had always wanted to try a 29er and my mind tells me that mooto-x ybb would be the perfect xc machine and maybe better suited for the race I will be participating next year.
Sell my 26" moots ybb and
get a custom mooto-x ybb (17"),
or go with a cannondale scalpel
or just keep what I have. Mind boggling....
Maybe I should just spend more time on my 2 wheels until my lotto numbers do the wonders for me.
