Can we specify the pre 2008 Canti posts for use with Avid shorty 6 ultimates? I understand the post 2008 are shorter. Thanks

we are using the 21mm vs. the 22mm stud. There are two industry standards out there at the moment. Sram/Avid is finding out that the Shorty Ultimate is not working well on the shorter version. At this time we are only specin' the 21mm. Sram is putting out a technical update to the Shorty Ultimate that will advise some to use a 1mm washer/spacer to solve the problem of the bolt bottoming out on the brake.As soon as I see the update I'll post it up.

MemberI talked with Avid and they said they are enclosing the washers with the new shorty ultimates. I called Avid and get the info sent to me for the reccommended mounting but decided to use the new TRP Croos brake instead. Far superior stopping power; real easy set up and alignment, no dinking around with set up to get rid of the squealing, more bling, and less expensive. The only down side I saw was less clearance. If you ride in extreme mud this may be an issue. Here's the link.
