The new Moots carbon forks look fantastic, and I'm sure they've been tweaked to perfection. Is the Psychlo-X version available with any options, e.g., fender eyelets, without the logo, etc.?
Thank you.

Drdan1,
Thanks for the compliments. The fork line is not available with any other options. For our first time designing forks and going through the extensive process of R & D, testing and production, we wanted to keep it simple. Down the road (think more than a year) you might see some other offerings as far as those options you are asking about.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Thanks,
Jon@Moots
Thanks, Jon. I saw the video, and the forks look very well made and sleek. The indentations inside the fork allowing the wheels to be easily removed is a fantastic innovation. I would expect no less from Moots...!
Jon,
Does the cross fork have brake spring 'pre-load' holes on the canti stud mounts?
Also, can you please post a hyperlink to the video drdan1 mentioned above?
Thanks,
D.
Dom,
Yes the Moots Psychlo X fork has a spring detent hole built in....the link to the video: http://youtu.be/wIdRcIJyRDc
All of our videos are being posted on our YouTube channel. More product to come, more fun stuff as well.
Thanks,
Jon@Moots
Jon,
Is there more than one hole so you can adjust the spring tension up or down?
Thanks,
D.
Dom,
Just one hole. Most brakes have a spring tension adjust, if not (like the ones I run, TRP Euro Mag) you can tweak the spring a little or center your straddle hanger so it gives equal pull.
Thanks,
Jon@Moots
Jon, how would one of those new forks look/work on and older Vamoots? Or say a Hamsten branded Moots built Rodie?
sbsbiker,
The new Moots carbon forks were designed and built with not only the new frames in mind, but the older ones as well. The axle to crown measurement is 370mm, which is right in the windown of all of our older frames and/or Hampsten builds. We offer them in 3 fork rakes so you can best match up the fork to your geometry.
As far as looks....I think they look pretty nice along our bead blast finish...same for a Hampsten.
Thanks,
Jon@Moots
Thanks for the info Jon.
Question,
Any chance that you guys can incorporate additional spring pre-load holes into the future cross fork design? I also run TRP Euro (Carbon) with an ENVE fork and wished they would've designed some adjustment to the spring pre-load. It's not so much as centering the brake as it is lever feel.
Thanks again,
D.
PS. love the 'pad pocket' recesses designed into the fork blades, who's idea idea was that? brilliant!
Dom,
In all reality, we won't be incorporating more holes for spring adjustment. Really don't need them. My set up tip if you want more snap in the return of your cantis:
1. Leave canti arm on frame/fork.
2. Remove pad/post from canti arm
2.5 Disconect the straddle cable from the arms
3. turn the canti the opposite way (away from the rim)....this will give the spring more tension for the return motion. Basically you are bending the spring to add tension....
The Moots "brake pocket" (TM) idea came about from Glen, myself and Brad.....
Thanks for the questions and the complements.

Oh my goodness Woody !! Thanks mate ! Love that ;-)
Jon,
I'm thinking of buying the new cross fork for my PX but wanted to be sure about one thing before I pulled the trigger, the 'brake pockets' will allow me to remove the front wheel without having to deflate the tire? I run a 32 Challenge Grifos with Euro-X brakes? (I 'hate' having to deflate/inflate the tire every time I take the wheel off...) Maybe it was a dumb question but wanted to be sure.
Thx,
D.
nevermind... I watched the video and I think I found my answer, it looks like the wheel can be removed without having to deflate the tire (hallelujah!)
Just pulled the trigger on the new cross fork (got one with the TRP hanger).
Can't wait for Brown Santa to show up... on boy!
Speaking of Moots Forks, can we get a small dinner camping set from Moots made out of titanium? Just for the heck of it!
Jason
Ti forks....I like it.
Yes, we designed the fork so when the cantis are in the "open" position you can remove up to a 34c tubular (thing large) tire without hitting the pads or needing to deflate the tire...nothing more frustrating than having to do eithier of those moves....
Let me know if you have anyother questions...
Jon@Moots
Jon,
Looks like the PX fork currently only comes with standard white decals, will Moots be offering them with a color option to match the frame and anodized stem/post parts?
D.
Dom,
We will not be offering them with the color outlines other than what you see on the site. We have to draw the line somewhere....
Thanks,
Jon@Moots
Dom, find a good painter, and have the color pinstriped on.
nah... I'll just peel the decals off.
No, you won't - they are clear coated over.
