Just to start off. I must be the most neurotic owner when it comes to the state of my Moots bikes, Any mark or blemish is like a stab through the heart. Even marks where the front changer has been clamped to the tubing or where cables have rubbed.
However i did my first strip and rebuild of my mootour which was built by the LBS, and alright it has been 9 months since I received it, and so it was the first time the bb had been taken out,but getting the bb cups out of the shell took ALL my strength. I had to take the frame off the stand and stand it upside down on the floor. Put one foot on the handle bars one on the saddle and then pull for all I was worth to move the BB cups.
Now I have heard of threads binding in but since I use anti seize grease on everything I dont expect to have this type of problem. The LBS also told me he used ti prep. So I dont expect to this t happen to me.
Please tel me I am worrying too much. Also has anyone ever seen this problem? Does anyone have a frame where the bb binded into the shell? How do we cope if we cross thread or mash the threads up? is there a remedy? This is ti after all, can the threads be stripped? What then?
JonC what do you suggest?
Happy riding all.
