    Jon,

I know that Moots will refinish frames, but do you refinish seatposts? Are they beadblasted, or something else? What do you (or others who have done it) recommend if they can't be factory refinished?

I'm sure Moots can take care of this, but if you want a bit more bling you can send it over to the guys at Spectrum Powder Works for an etch or polish and never have to worry about the decals coming off again.

See the last photo at http://spectrumpowderworks.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=98 (Ron's Moots) for what they did to my seatpost.

Do it yourself with a green Scotchbrite scrubbing pad. Put in a call to Moots and get a new sticker. Buff the post with the scotchbrite. Install decal and poof! You are done.

Fairly certain Moots will refinish posts and stems. Another option for you is check with Spectrum Powder Works. They bead blasted a post for Satellite with the Moots logo etched in.

The Scotchbrite option's only drawback is it won't have the same look as the "Moots" finish.

    tbill,
Yes, we refinish seatposts. It runs $20. We polish, blast and apply new decals. Turn around is 2 weeks tops.

    Thanks,

    Kamkam,
I sent Spectrum Powder Works an email with a pic of Frog's post and asked them the cost and how long. They told me it's about $100.00 and it takes about a week. I would love to get it done because the decals just don't last. Next winter perhaps...

    frog,

I've looked at that project many times—really nice. I had SPW custom paint the fork for my RSL and it looks great (imo), and I have toyed with the idea of having them polish the logos onto the RSL...

The exposed part of the post still looks like new were the stock decals on the stem are starting to peel after about a year of regular use. The polished logos on the frame have also stood up well on a turing bike that gets leaned against a lot of walls and posts.

    kamkam,
I was able to see Ron's bike in person...turned out really nice. He now rides it around the French country side daily....Warranty would not be affected.

    Thanks,
