Reconditioning of a Moots frame

If I were to have a used Moots frame in good condition sent to Moots for reconditioning, can certain braze ons (water bottle eyelets, fender eyelets) and cable stops be removed and/or placed differently? I've read enough posts here and elsewhere to glean that the frame comes out looking pretty much as new after Moots gets finished with it. I'm interested in knowing whether the removal of cable stops, etc. leaves indelible marks on the frame, something even a Moots' reconditioning and bead blasting can't fix.

What can be done, and what can't be done or expected? Lastly, If a Moots stem is sent back, can the faceplace also be reconditioned.to look new?

They can add stuff to the "outside" of the frame (cable stops, fender eyelets, etc.) but I don't think they can/will add anything that they have to drill the frame for, like a water bottle boss. Also, they won't remove anything like cable stops, brake bosses, etc.

Also, regarding the faceplate, if it is aluminum they won't refurb it. When I got my Cinco redone, they did the Ti parts only. But, you can buy a new one here: http://moots.myshopify.com/collections/other/products/moots-colored-bits

I didn't think that they would remove cable stops, as I'm assuming that in doing so, there would be telltale signs left.

It's not so much the leaving of telltale signs - the 'blast' medium would get rid of that - but it's the time and effort required to do so. Moots (and any bike builder) is gearded towards building, and the adding/welding of tidbits, rather than removing them. Those welds are pretty tough and meant to hold things 'on' a frame. Cutting, grinding, filing, and sanding down even the most simple and small weld can be very time consuming...and those tubes aren't thick - any potential slip with a grinder, and you've now got a hole or a gouge to deal with. The workers there would have to be extremely careful not to over-do it.

Now there are ways to fix holes, gouges, replace tubes, etc., but Moots doesn't do that (or shouldn't), it just adds tons of work, man hours and money to something that shouldn't be done in the first place.

Gents,
We can add things...(cable stops, water bottle boss, disc mount), but we will not remove anything that has been welded onto the frame. It will leave a mark and a possible weak spot on the frame. We cannot remove water bosses and move them.

We can fix gouges and minor cosmetic issues...major surgery, not so much.

As for the faceplate on a stem, we don't recondition them, but for a fee they can be replaced with a new one.
