   So I'm sitting here thinking why do I want to ride a (slightly) shabby (but still nice Look 585) winter bike when I could ride through the Great British winter on my proper bike and enjoy it year round. Maybe change the grouppo and wheels, but leave everything else as is and sell the Look.

   Whats the thinking on this guys ??

   Why do we buy these dream bikes and then only ride them for (at best) half the year. They are titanium, they don't rust, they are comfortable and stunning......

   What you reckon ??

   Sean,

   I'd ride it year round as is. Maybe get some "winter wheels" but I wouldn't change the grouppo. As quickly as everything changes, by the time you've shanked out your current grouppo, something bigger and better will have come along and it will be time to upgrade to that. Replace your chain, brake pads, maybe your cables/housing and rewrap your bars in the spring and you'll never know that you rode through the winter.

   Agreed with Teamfubar - I have never gotten why people spend big coin on great bikes only to put them away for the winter. It's a Moots - ride it all year! I ride my Vamoots as my daily "commuter" bike.

   This is just me, but ride it year 'round. It's built for that and no, it makes no sense to buy this beautiful machine and mothball it for half the year. Winter wheels are a good way to cut down on wear, a good washing every-now-and-then during the messy parts of winter. Then in the spring before the summer miles start, do a full teardown/clean and re-build...plus this will make your ridng buddies twitchy when they put away there "f-r-a-g-i-l-e" (say with Italian accent) for the winter!

   Well that's a turn uP for the books I thought everyone would say otherwise. Yahoo !! That's the way I felt but just wasn't sure if I was being shortsighted. Time to flog the Look then ! Whoop !!!
