Thanks woody
Much appreciated

No Problem,
I know there is a more up to date list that includes the cinch post, but I can't find it.
Woody
Remember the max torque spec for a Moots part like a stem may be greater than the max torque spec for the bar you are attaching to it.
Mark,
They are listed under "Tech" for each component.
Stems: http://moots.com/wp-content/uploads/TECHpaper_OpenStem.pdf

Let me know if you need anything else.
Thanks,

Jon,
What about for seat tube binders on the road bikes?
kamkam,
For the welded on binder (road and cross) we want: 55 inch pounds or 6.3 newton-meter.
On the removeable clamp style we want: 45 inch pounds or 5.0 Newton-meter.
Let me know if you have any other questions. I'll be building a PDF of all torque specs and listing under FAQ's...
many thanks,
Jon@Moots
What about adapter-clamp to fix front derailleur to tube. Shimano says to tighten their adapter component to 5-7Nm. Is up to 7Nm safe for the tube? My question is for an RSL road frame. (have experienced some slippage of FD at lower torques).
Ipalandjian,
Go with the reccomended 5-7 Nm...use the high end of the range if experiencing slipping...you should be safe.
thanks,

Perfect. Thank you very much.
One more question. It doesn't belong in this series, but thought I would ask here rather than start a new one.
I bought some TI headset spacers a couple months ago. My steerer tube is 1 1/8", however I have found I can not get the spacers on because they are too tight. I can get them onto top portion of steerer tube, but then they are stuck, I can not push/slide them down to sit near headset/head tube. I even tried some grease. Any advice on prep or tricks to try? If not no big deal because I am going to switch forks when new rsl forks come in, and will get the new rsl spacer at that time. so this will be a "moot" question soon.
Ipanlandjian,
What fork are you trying to install them on?
They should fit any 1 1/8'' fork. We can exchange them and investigate. Contact Kassi here at Moots and she can get you going with more spacers.
Thanks,
Jon@Moots
Jon
Temporarily I am using a Reynolds ouzo. Maybe the spacers were cut a touch too tight. If I get around to it, I will follow up with Kassi and send back for inspection. But I wasn't too worried. I hope to be on the new moots fork in a few weeks, then will dial in 1-2 of the new rsl spacers.
Thanks
Ps with some warmer spring weather in northeast, I have finally been putting in some real miles on the new frame. It is just a ridiculously excellent bike. The passion grows with each ride!
Ipalandjian,
You might also want to check to see of the expander plug has been over-tightended. This could cause the steerer tube to bulge slightly, making it difficult to slide the spacers onto the steerer tube. Your description suggests that this might be the case since you can get the spacers onto the top of the steerer, but then they get stuck.
Ipalandjian,
Interesting enough,....the only forks we have come across to be slightly oversized is the older Reynolds forks. For some reason they are just a touch bigger than anyone else out there.
New Moots forks will be in stock by mid-April in good numbers.
Hang tight...the new forks are on the way!
Thanks,
Jon@Moots

Sounds like mystery solved. Tx for update on fork eta. Hard to believe the ride could get better but looking forward to getting my hands on that.
