Great news!! If the King PF30 BB turns out to be as great as their other products, then this is a home run for both Chris King and Moots. Should make the decision to jump on the RSL line even easier. Can't wait to get one for my PX RSL.

Any idea when these might make it to retail customers?

Do you know if CK will produce a MTB specific 68mm PF30 BB to suit Shimano cranks without the need for spacers?

They are supposed to be offering a PF30 in a 30mm, a 24mm and a step down 30-24 model as well (using King made spacers).

    Check the info here: http://www.cyclingnews.com/features/interbike-2012-tech-new-and-surprising-offerings-from-chris-king

Teamfubar, thats not really the answer I am looking for.
Moots are using the 68mm PF30 BB(mainly a road standard) on their MTBs and as it stands as far as I know any conversion(with a pf30 bb) to use Shimano cranks also requires the use of adapters and spacers.
The common standard for PF30 in MTB's is a 73mm BB shell.
I thought Jon might have more insight.
    Jon.....?

    craig,
Good question and it's probably best to contact King on that one. I would assume being Chris King the slip-in 24mm adaptors would be spaced in order not to have to use the additional spacer. From what they tell me there will be a Shimano slip in and a GXP version as well.

In my opinion using a 24mm spindle in a PF30 set up misses out on part of the advantage of the system as a whole. Why not use a lighter crank? But I do understand the need for Shimano users to complete the groupo with the crank as well.

I'll send King a note and ask about the spacing of the spacers....

    Thanks,

Does the PF30 work with the CK grease injector tool?

    Full M....
CK is saying Q1 for the PF30 to be released......I haven't check in with them as of late, but continue to abuse the PF unit I have....solid is an understatement.

Yep, not too sure on the amendment 64 issue...we could call it "The Dopin' Open".....or "The High Country Century".....aid stations would have "brownies" for all......yikes.

    Be good.
