Just seen the post about the bb shell filling up with water.
Living in the UK where it rains all the F8&^$ng time, I have toyed with this idea for a while. But I don't want to inflict anything on my beautiful Moots frames.
Does doing this void the guarantee? and is it really needed? I realise that it is the bearings that would be most at risk, but to be honest, I use mainly Shimano 105 bb outboard units, these only have a realistic life span of about 5 years if you are lucky before the drive side bearings start to loosen and wobble, that to me is reasonable life span and that is without regular stripping and rebuilding of the bb.
Also one of my frames has a new Chris King bottom bracket unit which can be regreased without being removed which would protect the bearings independently anyway.
Would love to hear all your thoughts on the subject.
