Hi All
I have a Psychlo X and now want to add a road frame to the fold. Anyone have a review of the 2010 Vammoots CR frame? Feedback? Notes on how it performs?
I am coming from a 2006 Litespeed Vortex and I am looking for more frame firmness but still want a Ti feel ride. The RSL was a consideration but the BB30 does not work for me.

After building a new Mooto-X YBB a year ago and loving it, I decided to build a 2010 Vamoots CR two months ago and it fits my needs/wants perfectly. I have been riding top end carbon frames for a while with the most recent one being a 6.9 Madone. I didn't want the press-fit BB30 on the RSL and I also thought the bike might be a little stiffer than what I was after so I opted for the CR and I put an Edge/Enve 1.0 fork on it. I am not a racer but I like an aggressive riding position. The bike is everything I hoped it would be. It's plenty stiff but gives me a little more compliance over the bumps than the Madone and you don't see one on every street corner like a Trek, Specialized, Cervelo, Giant, etc. which I like as well. I have some Edge carbon hoops and a Dura-Ace group and it comes in at 17 lbs. flat so it's not a light weight but it's not heavy either. In my opinion, any top end frame is going to be more similar to one another than different with most of the differences becoming noticable only after several hours in the saddle. I would argue that a powerful rider won't be able to accelerate as quickly on this bike as he could with a lighter, stiffer frame but after those first few pedal strokes, things even out. I like this frame because it feels really solid over bumps but doesn't beat you up. I also have the Moots seat post which I like for the compliance as well as the looks.

I haven't ridden the new Vamoots CR, but other than the name it appears to be virtually identical to the former Compact model. The one difference in geometry is that every size CR has a slightly taller headtube (typically 4 -5 mm) than the Compact, which for most people is probably not a bad thing. I don't believe that Moots tinkered with the tubesets, but Jon or someone from Moots could confirm that (why mess with perfection?).
Given that it is basically the same as the Compact, it is very much a tried-and-true design. I find that there is a very similar fell in terms of ride quality and stiffness between the Psychlo-X and Moots' road bikes. If you love the way your Psychlo-X rides (especially stiffness, road feel, etc.), I'm almost certain that you will love the CR.

Been riding my CR since May this year. It's fast and stiff enough for me. Very smooth. I have Super Record and Edge tubulars. Seat post and stem are Moots as well. Weight came in at 15.6 lbs. I'm coming from an Orbea carbon bike. You can't go wrong with a Moots. Good luck.

CR and compact are without doubt(to me!) the best bikes to ride concrete in a balanced way....stiff , foregivig yet, fast, well balanced geo, and timeless design ...these bike can outperform generations of bikes.
i don t know which bike could get a higher standard in overall performance.....looks always are "individual flavour" but to me its a Art design product that involves a perfect function....
still have a RSL X here to built but i am not " burning" to set it up quickly as satisfaction with "normal" pSX and compact is very high.

No, you would want to increase the 44mm head tube lenght by 2cm to make up for the stack difference.
