I was curious if I would have any issues with rear tire clearance on a full ti smoothie. I was looking into the Kenda Slant six 2.35.
Thanks

I occasionally use a Nevegal 2.35 and it fits fine, but is a little heavy for the long, steep climbs where my Smoot (decal damage) excels. Of course, with the 2.35 on the back and a 2.5 on the front, the descending is pretty amazing (but way too heavy).
I just measured what's on it right now, the Bontrager 2.2 on the rear measures 2.0 and the specialized 2.3 on the front measures 2.2" . Yes, these are old narrow rims. 22mm rear, 24mm front.
I could swap things around for a minute to see if the 2.35 on a 24mm rim hits anything...
Traviz...
The 2.35 tire will be pushing the clearance on the Ti Smoothie....You can shoe horn it in there but be left with little mud/debris or out of true wheel clearance.
2.25 would be a bit "safer"...
Thanks,

I ran a Bontranger 2.35 on my Smoothie, had a couple of the side lugs rub on the chainstays so I trimmed them off with a razor. Never ran into any mud with these tires but the clearance was tight. Muddy buildup on the tread would have stopped me in my tracks. Rode great.
