Then we blast the head of the post and fade the blast into the scotch bright finish.</p> <p>So, what you can do is use scotch bright on the lower portion of the post to remove any marks/scratches and try to leave the blasted finish alone at the top of the post. As for the finish of your frame...the best thing to do is wash the bike with soap and water. Wipe frame down with a clean rag using Pledge furniture polish...we like the lemon flavor. If you go after a scratch too aggressively with steel wool or scotch bright you will remove the bead blast finish from the frame. It looks great after this treatment. DO NOT rub your Moots frame with scotch-bright!! Moots frames are bead blasted and have a bit of a dull grey finish instead of the polished or brushed look of other ti manufacturers. When you rub the bead blasted frame, the result is a shiny look- much shinier than the rest of the frame, Buffing ti frames is good advice for the brushed/polished frames from Lynskey, Seven etc. That is one down side to the sweet look of the Moots finish, but most of us here would say it is well worth it. Also, Moots does offer a re-blast and sticker program to get your frame looking brand new. </p> <p>As for the "sticking" together, definitely check out a product called "ti prep." JonC and others will probably chime in on this, but I always coat the bottom bracket, head tube and seat tube with ti prep to prevent sticking. I actually use it all over the bike where anything is screwed into the frame.
