King is still offering the headsets in the same colors as they always have (or at least most of the colors).</p> <p>Normally, I don't like it when people remove the name of a high end bike or part (like taking the Moots decals off of a bike) because I think the builder deserves to have their work acknowledged. But I think it is kinda cool that King is letting his product speak for itself by not shouting his name on it. </p> <p>I really admire the company of Chris King. They are really good to their employees, they are stewards of the environment and they make the benchmark of headsets and hubs (yet to tell on the bottom brackets). I think it was tastefully executed with discretion. I especially like the little details such as the contrasting Mr. Moots on the brake bridge, it's little details like that which draws you in to a closer look and admire the work. Those Bridgers 'dreamride' paint jobs however are another matter entirely. I think Fubar's clown reference described them best. Dreamride?... more like a nightmare (sorry Sat). It was well executed and for a painted Moots, it looks good, but I personally wouldn't do it. Like I said, add color and personalization in other ways, like King hubs, headsets, bottom brackets, colored nipples, colored stem and seatpost caps, bar tape, etc. But hey, different strokes for different folks I guess. To paraphrase what someone else said, at least they're riding a Moots.</p> <p>To me, painting a Moots is akin to having van Gogh's Sunflowers hanging in your house but covered with a curtain. Moots finish and welding is a work of art and I love to look at it. I think covering up this "art" is doing a disservice to the world.
