I'm waiting for four ribs and the scapula to grow back right now too. Six weeks to let me get acquainted with the wind trainer...Again. I've got to just stop doing those ground hits.

It was very artistic this time. I was wearing the jersey that looks as if Jackson Pollack threw up on it, My front wheel looks like Dali's clock, and my shoulder looks like a Picasso. A stunning opera when the long-suffering-wife retrieved me from the hospital too.

Yes, the bombproof titanium bike is fine, but you knew that.

ease back into it slowly my friend, you don't want to aggravate your injuries and possibly relapse. when I was a kid I busted a couple of ribs falling off my horse (he spooked and threw me), of course being a kid instead of taking it easy for a couple of weeks to heal up, a few days later I went trail riding and got tossed off my old Honda dirt bike and landed you know where... it took me a good month before I could comfortably take a deep breath again.

D.

Yeah yeah - you guys are all offering rational and sensible advice. My head is a bit scrambled following the crash!. I'll direct my efforts elsewhere and leave the RSL as is (apart from replacing the levers). I really can't fault it anyway.

I'll divert my pent up energy to other projects. I have a Yeti ARC-X Crosser that I want to convert to SS/Fixed using a White Industries eno hub. That could be fun and a good way to rip some fitness back fast after my lay-off!

Cheers

HillBilly, hope all is well and glad to hear you're on the mend.

IMHO I would just get another set of levers (eBay?) for now and wait a season or two for Campy to work out the bugs once they get off their derrieres (did I spell that right?) and offer EPS.

FWIW, I rode my brother's Parlee with Shimano's DI2 back when he got the bike built up and I didn't feel compelled to run out and replace my Record grouppo. Make no mistake, it was pretty cool but pretty expensive too...

Just my .02

D.

Hillbilly,
Ouch! Hope you heal up...had a similar crash a year ago in October...slight torn rotator cuff, no sugery needed...but that scapula takes a long while to heal.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure Campy is offering an external option of routing. We don't retro fit bikes for electronic systems, if ordered as new we have a very clean internal routing option, it's very much the same as Di2.

Like 29er says above, it will be some time before we have Campy EPS in our hands. Right now they have provided drawings for builders so we can plan around them....

Heal Up Soon!

Don't know why you couldn't fit it - however:

1. If I know Campy, it won't be available to the public for months. No big deal if you can wait.

2. You'll have 'empty' mechanical cable stops. Ugh

3. You'll have to get electric ports 'drilled' - which I doubt Moots will do on the RSL.

4. You'll have to have battery bosses drilled/tapped - which I doubt Moots will do on the RSL. (this battery won't be hide-able like the Shimano one).

5. You'd be better off, I would think, to sell the current frame and get one made that is EPS ready.

Hi folks

My mind is running overdrive while I am recovering from a heavy crash nearly 2 weeks ago that will see me 10 weeks off the bike with busted scapula and ribs. My skin is at least starting to grow back!

My Moots RSL faired way better than me in the crash and damage appears limited to a pair of Campy Super Record levers. This got me thinking - does anyone know anything about the new Campy EPS electronic gear?

I'm thinking if I could source Campy Super Record EPS front and rear derailleur and shifters could it be fitted to my RSL? I'm not sure what external wiring options exist for Campy (if at all)?

Thoughts...?

Cheers
