I appreciate the perspective. I've come to the same conclusion that the Moots' crew knows far best in their design and application.

Thanks!

Mine is standard and plenty stiff, and I'm 85kg and have thighs like 2 foot long watermelons. Stiff as any bike I've ever read, sounds like you might wind up with overkill and a dead frame if you're not careful.

You've confirmed what I thought, just wanted to cover all the bases.

Roo so far you have added ~90 grams to the weight of the frame for the increase in diameter of the downtube and the headtube assembly. When we designed the frame we felt very confident in the ride of the bike, especially the balance of stiffness, comfort and weight. Each size uses a specific tubeset based on average rider weights and lengths of tubes. We use the experience we've gained doing ti for over 20 years.

Where do these suggestions come from?

Ok, I've pulled the trigger on a new Vamoots RSL and went custom for a tapered fork and larger DT (approx size 52). The question:

Should I consider increasing (next "size" up) Seat stays, Chain stays, or Top Tube? My goal here is to make the frame stiff but not kill the overall compliance of the frame. Plus, I'd rather not add weight - just to add it...

I've got differing suggestions...any thoughts?

Thanks,
