It would be great to see you there. As for the shop, I haven't been. I have talked to the owner several times though. He's been very responsive and has an affinity for gravel rides which I think is great. I personally think riding on gravel is a great experience and I'm glad to see it growing in popularity.

AggieMike,
LR 100 looks great. I recognize some of those roads from back in the day. You never know...just might have to get back to my roots in March.

How is the District Bike Shop? Good to see another shop in Stillwater!

Thanks for all the comments. Jon, I ordered a PX. Looking forward to riding it in the Land Run 100 in Stillwater this March. I know that's your former neck of the woods. If you're down that way during the ride, it would be nice to ride with you a bit. If possible, the Land Run 100 might be a nice time for a Moots event too?

LaLa,
A nice 32c works with fenders on the PX. How big of a tire are you thinking?

Thanks,

I want to buy an PX with slider dropouts for Rohloff and fender mounts as a commuter bike. Approximately how wide tires can you use with fenders mounted? Is it possible to order a custom PX with more tire clearance?

AggieMike,
The PX & PX RSL will run a 34c tire with a small amount of room. If you want more than that it would be best to go the route of some sort of custom MX or MX RSL ....this would give you max tire clearance and could be tweaked (the geometry) for a nice drop bar set up. The PX & PX RSL are not meant to run larger than that.....

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks,

You can fit a 34c, depending on the tire and specific measurement, but it has very little room to spare.

I have ridden Kanza 5 times, 3 on a moots. A cross bike is definitely the faster option, but I prefer the comfort of a 29x2 tire over the long haul. Many veterans swear to never run below a 42 ever again. Others get by on 32's. A GrassMoots teammate rode his px ybb with 38 or 40's I believe. I will try to get him to confirm.

It's a great race too. Even better in a Moots.

I know this has been asked before, but I haven't seen a definitive answer so I was hoping someone here could help. I'm looking to ride Dirty Kanza this year and trying to decide on tire choice. Anyone here ride it on a Moots that can share some insight into tire choice, including width? Also, what is the widest tire you've been able to comfortably ride on your Moots Psycho X? Thanks in advance.
