Hi Jon,

thanks for the response -- it's not a moots fork, but it almost could have been (if memory serves) -- it's an alpha q cx10. having thought more about it, i wonder if the headset bearings aren't the most vulnerable part in this situation. regardless, it's good to know that the fork and headtube are not a concern. thanks!

redcliffs,

I would not worry too much about the stresses on the fork. If you are running a Moots fork, trust that they have gone through and passed very strict fatigue testing as they were developed and proudced.

However, you should regularly inspect your fork throughout the season to make sure all is good.

As for the rear triangle on your Moots frame, there have been countless owners that have logged thousands of miles on wind trainers without issue....ride that thing with confidence!

Let me know if you have any more questions.

Thanks,

I've read opinions that suggest that trainers can be bad for wheels and/or rear triangles because of the forces put on them while riding. I'd welcome thoughts on this question, but I'm most interested in how folks feel about fork mounts for rollers -- I would like to be able to ride longer and harder than my skills will allow on rollers and have occasionally used a fork mount, but I'm wondering whether they put strain/pressure on the steering tube, headset bearings, head tube, etc.

Thanks! /s
