Glad you are alive and healing. Designing a better guardrail for such instances is a noble task. Dont be swayed by the time it will take to get it approved for use though. New guardrail designs must go through rigorous testing that could take years to approve.

Healing slowly, but FINALLY out o hopital. Still in a great deal of pain. I'm told it will still be months before I can rids again. In the meantime, I'm gettng together with some physics and engineering buddies to see if we can come a better guard rail that will protect cyclists and motorcyclitss as well as cars, with minimal obstruction of view Perhaps distribute to help raise funds for it,and apply for some grants. It wouldn't even have to be limited to the one road. I know of a umber of roads that ucould he

Looking forward to seeing the repaired bike.
I expect cosmetic damages, but beyond that I have no idea what to expect.

Damn CircaRigel,
That's awful - I hope you heal up and get back out there next season. The body is a truly amazing machine and will heal.
Take care,
Woody

CircaRigel,

HOLY CRAP! It sounds like you're lucky to be typing a message to us. Sorry to hear about your accident, but glad you're still alive!

Take care, heal quick and if there is any "light at the end of the tunnel" it is the off-season is almost here anyhow. Maybe with a little luck and a lot of effort you'll be back on the bike next season. Besides, it will give you a lot of time to find some parts to "upgrade" on the Moots, you know, in thanks for saving you! 8^).

Take care!

Just a fyi...On September 18, I was riding on Mt. Evans when some squirrly winds nearly doubled my speed, and then forced me over a 30 foot cliff, where I landed on jagged rocks below. I suffered many injuries, including breaking half my ribs, at least 5 vertebra, my right scapula, and numerous internal injuries to my spleen, adrenal glands, kidney, etc. My Moots Vamoots CR, however, survived pretty well, with most damage limited to the handlebars.

It definitely has me wishing my bones were made of titanium too.

I hope I'll one day to be able to return to riding one day.

For all I know, perhaps the Moots even saved my life.

Thanks, Moots!
