Drparrot; sorry to hijack your thread with old okie memories, I'm riding a ybb-gristle and would love to get down to arkansas to ride it on the womble or quachita trails. Arkansas has some of the best riding i'vew seen anywhere. Enjoy that Moots!

Holy cow a fellow Okie! Draper was ...well Draper. Those rabbit like trails made for good skills. Rigid Cannodales, rigid forks and hi-pressure in the tires....how far we have come....Me and sbsbiker spent some good road trips in eastern OK, western AR.....cutting our teeth on great trails.

sbsbiker, I didn't think you could remember that far back! Hold onto those memories.

Laeljon, we can go pretty small in the cross frame...It would be custom and we would have to build around some creative geometry to cut down on toe overlap, but it's possible.

Thanks,

Draper was a great race venue. I remember racing there way back before "new draper". The trails were off the side of the road and the parking doubled as a illegal dump. Classic. I still have an OMBRA sweatshirt from that era. The oklahoma mountain bike racing association was OK's first mtbike club and co-founded by myself and jonc. Jonc ran the races up in stillwater out on Guy Coopers land, and the OKC/Norman group put on races at Draper.

That so far back I was faster than jonc.lol.

drparrothead,
So nice to hear you are loving the Gristle. It's my choice of ride.

Back in the day I have ridden those same trails....Devils Den State Park, Cedar Lake, OK and beyond. Really good stuff there!

Thanks for the support!

Enjoy the ride.

Thanks to everyone at Moots for helping me build my dream bike. I've only been riding a couple of years but when I finally figured out what I wanted, I bit the bullet and couldn't be happier. I've now got over 1k miles on my full suspension Gristle 69er / Rohloff build. I ride in the Ozark and Ouachita Mountains of Arkansas over quite varying terrain. It's super comfy for long rides and climbs like a freakin' beast. I know that there's not one bike that does it all, but this one comes pretty darn close for me. As a side note, I owned a Lynskey Pro 29er, nice bike, but the welding on the Moots is wayyyyy cleaner. I'm not picking on them, but everyone at the shop had a look and all were impressed.... Thanks again Moots!
